Terraced houses are very common in towns and cities throughout the U.K. During the winter the houses provide warmth and insulation to keep people warm and in the summer large windows allow air to circulate around the house to keep it cool.
Flats and apartments are found in built up areas to allow a large amount of people live in a small area.
Detached houses are found throughout the country where there are lots of space.
